

Jimmie married Mary Grace Fojtik “Gracie”, October 6, 1946. They lived in the Freeport and Jones Creek, Texas area for 40 years where they raised four children. Rosey worked for South Western Bell Telephone Company and held various positions before retiring with 36 years of service as a Test Technician. Jim was an active participant in his community and was involved in the Knights of Columbus as a Third Degree Knight, the Catholic Youth Organization as a Sponsor and the Boy Scouts of America as a Boy Scout Leader. Jim was a member of the Communication Workers of American serving as the Local 6222 Union Representative during his employment. Jim and Grace enjoyed 27 wonderful years of retirement in Red Rock, Texas, where they continued to be very active in the local community.
Jim is preceded in death by his son Larry James Rosenkranz, his parents and six siblings. He is survived by his wife Grace of 67 years; daughter Gwen O’Barr and husband Bill; son Jimmie, Jr. and wife Clara; daughter Monica Hammond and husband Clarke; eight Grandchildren, twelve great-Grandchildren and two siblings.
Special thanks to Granddaughter Lauren Rosenkranz for taking care of her Grandfather during his illness and for the support Granddaughter Jennifer Neumann provided.
Visitation is 6pm-8pm Thursday, May 22, 2014, and The Rosary will begin at 7pm, both at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home, 505 Old Austin Highway, Bastrop TX.
Funeral service is at 11am, Friday, May 23, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4045 FM 535, Rockne, TX. Father Jozef Musiol will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Grandsons Jeremy, Jeff, Trent, Michael and Jonathon Rosenkranz, great-Grandson Travis Neumann, close friends Harvey Gross and Greg Barker. Honorary Pallbearers are James Hardy, Wayne Pease, Bob Moreland and Grandson Daniel Marvel Rosenkranz.
