She was preceded in death by her first husband James Travis Fort, her mother Ima Lawson Hodges, and her father Bascom Crowder Hodges.
She will be sorely missed by her husband of 39 years, Ben D. Snead, and by the following family members: sister Ellie Hodges of Houston, brother Bascom L. Hodges of East Bernard, sons Jay Fort, Bill Fort, Drew Fort, J.T. Fort, and daughter Valerie Fort Vineyard, step sons Ben Snead, III, and John Snead, and step daughters Ginger Lindsey and Julie Hyatt, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Jo will be held at 5:00 pm onThursday, August 23 at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please memorials may be made to Bastrop State Park in loving memory of Lula Jo Snead.
