Rafael Valles Jr.

Rafael Valles Jr., lovingly known as “Junior”, was born in Austin, Texas, to Rafael Valles and Matilde Valles. At 43 years old, he leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever carry him in their hearts.

Junior lived life on his own terms. He was imperfect, made mistakes, and was often misunderstood, but those who truly knew him knew the man beneath the walls. A man with a big heart, a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, and a fiercely loyal spirit. When he let his guard down, his hilarious personality and natural charisma could light up a room.

Junior was a hardworking team lead in modular construction and earned the respect of those he worked alongside. He was also a talented sketch artist. He was baptized Catholic and had a special devotion to El Santo Niño de Atocha.

Above all, Junior was a father. His children, Natalia, Mykel, and Rafael III, were his greatest pride. Natalia was Daddy’s little girl, while he raised his sons to be strong, independent young men. He made sure all three knew they were loved and never treated them as though they were incapable.

Before his passing, Junior had begun planning a new chapter in Idaho, where he planned to build a new life and start a business with his longtime friend, Karl, and eventually bring his children to live with him. He was happy and looking forward to his future.

He is survived by his 3 children, the mother of his children, Mayra Villanueva; 2 sisters Sonia Valles (Leonardo Tapia) and Isela Valles (Efrén Ramírez); 1 brother Jose Juan Valles (Jessica Valles); nine nephews, Adrian Montez, Ivan Tapia, Jose Juan Valles, Jr., Leonel Tapia, Daniel Valles, Marco Reyes, Jr., Jose L. Tapia, Jr., Cesar Reyes, and Efren Ramirez and six nieces Krystal Montez, Leticia Juarez, Olivia Juarez, Liliana Tapia, Paola Ramirez, and Camila Ramirez; and many extended family members, friends, and coworkers.

Junior is deeply loved. His life was bigger than his mistakes, and his heart was bigger than many ever knew.

May he rest in eternal peace alongside his mother, Matilde and sister, Helen and may El Santo Niño de Atocha continue to watch over him on this journey.

Visitation will be held at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, TX 78602, US, on September 3, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, TX 78602, US, on September 3, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

A Chapel Service and Final Rest will take place at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704, US, on September 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

En cariñosa memoria de Rafael Valles, Jr.

Rafael Valles Jr., cariñosamente conocido como "Junior", nació en Austin, Texas, hijo de Rafael Valles y Matilde Valles. A los 43 años de edad, deja tras de sí toda una vida de recuerdos y una familia que lo llevará siempre en el corazón.

Junior vivió la vida a su manera. Era imperfecto, cometió errores y a menudo fue incomprendido, pero quienes realmente lo conocían sabían quién era el hombre detrás de sus barreras. Era un hombre de gran corazón, con una sonrisa hermosa, un excelente sentido del humor y un espíritu profundamente leal. Cuando bajaba la guardia, su personalidad divertida y su carisma natural iluminaban cualquier lugar.

Junior era un líder de equipo trabajador en el sector de la construcción modular y se ganó el respeto de sus compañeros de trabajo. También era un talentoso dibujante. Fue bautizado en la fe católica y sentía una devoción especial por el Santo Niño de Atocha.

Por encima de todo, Junior era padre. Sus hijos —Natalia, Mykel y Rafael III— eran su mayor orgullo. Natalia era la niña de sus ojos, mientras que a sus hijos varones los crió para ser hombres fuertes e independientes. Se aseguró de que los tres supieran que eran amados y nunca los trató como si fueran incapaces.

Antes de su fallecimiento, Junior había comenzado a planear un nuevo capítulo en Idaho, donde tenía previsto construir una nueva vida y emprender un negocio con su amigo de toda la vida, Karl, para eventualmente llevar a sus hijos a vivir con él. Se sentía feliz y lleno de ilusión por el futuro.

Le sobreviven sus tres hijos y la madre de estos, Mayra Villanueva; sus hermanas Sonia Valles (Leonardo Tapia) e Isela Valles (Efrén Ramírez); su hermano Jose Juan Valles (Jessica Valles); sus sobrinos Adrian Montez, Ivan Tapia, Jose Juan Valles Jr., Leonel Tapia, Daniel Valles, Marco Reyes Jr., Jose L. Tapia Jr., Cesar Reyes y Efren Ramirez; sus sobrinas Krystal Montez, Leticia Juarez, Olivia Juarez, Liliana Tapia, Paola Ramirez y Camila Ramirez; así como numerosos familiares, amigos y compañeros de trabajo.

Junior es profundamente amado. Su vida fue más grande que sus errores, y su corazón, más grande de lo que muchos llegaron a saber.

Que descanse en paz eterna junto a su madre, Matilde, y su hermana, Helen; y que el Santo Niño de Atocha continúe velando por él en este viaje.

El velorio se llevará a cabo en Bastrop Providence Funeral Home (2079 Hwy 71 East, Bastrop, TX 78602, EE. UU.) el 3 de septiembre de 2026, de 5:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m., incluyendo el rezo del Santo Rosario en el mismo lugar, de 7:00 p. m. a 7:30 p. m.
