Robert Herman Lange

Robert (Bob) Herman Lange, age 86, of Bastrop, Texas was called from this life on Sunday, July 17, 2016 in Austin, Texas. He was born to Robert Fredrick and Elsa Emile (Stoebner) Lange on March 17, 1930 in Cameron, Texas. Graduating high school as a proud Cameron High Yo man!

Bob moved to Austin in 1951 and married Betty June Stevens in Austin, Texas on June 30, 1952.

Bob served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He joined the Austin Fire Department in 1960 and retired in 1985 with 25 years of service. These were his proudest moments and providex the funiest stories. Bob loved the fellowship of the AFD.

After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, welding, rebuilding cars, making jewelry and just doing whatever he and Betty wanted. He especially loved driving his Gator around his property near the lake.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 57 years, Betty June Lange.

Bob is survived by: his son, Robert Joseph Lange; his daughter, Tanya Skaarup; his grandson, Alexander Skaarup; and his sister, Norine Manley.

A visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home, Bastrop, TX. A Celebration of Life will be 10:00am Friday, July 22, 2016 at the funeral home with burial following at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop.
