Adeline Kleinpeter Bargas

Adeline Kleinpeter Bargas, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014.  She was 95.   Visitation and services will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.  Visitation will be from 9:30 "“ 11:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial.    Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.  While the world was celebrating the end of World War I on November 11, 1918, Louise and Edward Kleinpeter were celebrating the birth of their daughter.   Adeline grew up in East Baton Rouge and graduated from Baker High School in 1935.  Adeline met Gordon Leigh Bargas, Sr. while she was working at Rosenfield's Department Store in downtown Baton Rouge. They were married on March 9, 1940 at St. Joseph's Cathedral. They were married for 54 years until Gordon's death in 1994.  Adeline will be remembered for her love for fishing at her camp on Lake Verret and cooking for and feeding her family.  Her Christian faith was very important to her and she was an active member of several Catholic parishes throughout her life including St. Isidore, St. Gerard, and St. Pius.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.  Adeline is survived by her four sons and their wives - Gordon Leigh and Mimi Bargas of Baton Rouge, Rodney and Susan Bargas of Weatherford, TX, Cary and Kathy Bargas of Yantis, TX, and Alvin and Carlisa Bargas of Baton Rouge; grandchildren and spouses - Jeff and Melanie Bargas of Dallas, Jennifer Bargas and Mark Younger of Aledo, TX,  Gordon "Trey" and Valerie Bargas of Baton Rouge, Kara Bargas andPaul Dauterive of Dallas,Dorothy "Dottie" Bargas and Greg Roesler of Denver, Jason Bargas of New Orleans, Jon and Royce Bargas of Oklahoma City, Charles Bargas of Baton Rouge, Dr. Casey and Rachel Bargas of Lake Charles, and Tyler Bargas of Baton Rouge; and 12 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Hagen Kleinpeter and sister Dorothy Kleinpeter Gunby. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and six siblings.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
