A retired transmission specialist and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 8:30 p.m.Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 73, a native of New Orleansand a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Visiting at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Friday, April 13, from 10 a.m.until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Tom Ranzino, celebrant. Interment inPortHudsonNationalCemetery. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Johnnie F. Harris; two daughters, Pamela Wallace and Cynthia Harris; son, Albert Samuel Harris III; five sisters, Jean Harris, Doris R. Myles, Ethel Bowie, Noel Randall and Myrtle Croson; brother, Thomas Harris; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Wallace; and parents, Albert S. Harris and Delores Gabriel Harris. Pallbearers will be Harold Williams, Harold Bowie, Thomas Harris and Roosevelt Harvey. Honorary pallbearer is William George III.
