"Alda Beach Abbott passed away at home on December 26th, 2017 after a brief illness. Alda was born on May 16th, 1940 in Salisbury, MD to Ralph Waters Beach and Freida Pulman Beach. Alda was preceded in death by husband Richard Franz Abbott, Ph. D. Alda received a Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Delaware and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. She spent most of her life counseling those who needed it most, spending many years working for the state at LTI, Earl K. Long Medical Center, and the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals. She was very talented in making arts & crafts such as sewing, beading, and stained glass. Alda possessed the warmest heart and the kindest soul. She loved to make others happy and enjoyed giving gifts for Christmas and birthdays. Alda is survived by her son Charles, her daughter-in-law Melissa, sister Carolyn, niece Jenn, and nephew Geoff.
