Alfred Abshire Jr.

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Alfred Abshire Jr. (Bubba), age 71, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on Sunday, July 6th, 2025, surrounded by family. Born to the late Annie Mae Meaux Abshire and Alfred Abshire Sr., Alfred carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and love for family throughout his life. Alfred leaves behind his four devoted sons: Jeremy Abshire, Nathan Abshire, Derrick Abshire, and James Abshire, who were the pride and joy of his life. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Zane Abshire, Christy Brooke Abshire, Haley Abshire, Isabella Abshire, Dylan Abshire, Devon Abshire, Jackson Abshire, Derrick Abshire Jr., and Allie Abshire. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Darlene Abshire (wife, Kimberly Abshire) and Paulette Kippers (husband, Barry Kippers), who stood by him with unwavering love and support. Alfred was preceded in death by his brother, Lyle Abshire Sr., whom he deeply loved and missed.

Serving as pallbearers will be Markus Kippers, Clayton Daigre IV, Derrick Abshire Jr., Dylan Abshire, Devon Abshire, and Jackson Abshire, a reflection of the strong family bonds that meant everything to Alfred. Though he may no longer walk beside us, Alfred's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at GreenOaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A service to honor Alfred's life will start at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
