
Alice was born Sept. 30, 1927, and passed away Monday, July 13, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She will always be remembered by her many friends and large family as a warm and cheerful person who faced her many health problems with unbelievable courage and perseverance. She had a deep and abiding faith and she along with her husband, Pat, were for many years active in First United Methodist. She lived in harmony and peace and was a blessing to her family and community with her ever present laughter and humor. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Harris; son, Tim Harris and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Gregory Harris and wife Dori, Dustin Harris, Brittney Nizzo and husband Brian, and Derek Gautreau and wife Tammy; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Jarreau, Caroline Nizzo and Morgan, Myles and Madeline Gautreau; beloved cousins; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Carolyn Lorio, Joan Alford, Beryl "Honeybee" Fourroux, Virgie and Kirk Germany. She was eagerly expecting the August arrival of her second great-grandson, Aiden Patrick Harris. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of many years, J. Patrick Harris; parents, Robert and Jimmie Black; and brother, Bob Black. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Religious service at First United Methodist Church, Aldrich Chapel, on Wednesday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Pallbearers will be Dustin Harris, Greg Harris, Derek Gautreau, Brian Nizzo, Bob Lorio, Tyler Rock and Brennan Rock. If desired, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
