She died at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at her home in Baton Rouge. Alice was 101, a homemaker, a resident of Baton Rouge since 1950 and a native of Iowa, La. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Dec. 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home chapel on Monday, Dec. 21, from 9 a.m. until the religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Arnold Norsworthy and the Rev. T.W. Terral. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by five children, Joyce Rose, Fletcher Hart and wife Beverly, Alice Renfrew and husband Dallis, Mayce Strickland and Paul Hart and wife Sarah; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend for 101 years, Sarah Pierce Butcher. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher W. Hart; parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.T. Wait; sister, Elsie Pugh; and grandson, Brett Hart. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
