
"Gone yet not forgotten, although God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts." He was a manager of securities, finance and mortgages. He died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at his home in Baton Rouge at the age of 82. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served with the Army Rangers. Visitation will be at First New Testament Church, 3235 Aubin Lane, on Saturday, July 21, from 9 a.m. until the religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by Lee Shipp, pastor, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie C. Bogan; two daughters, Cynthia B. Squires and Sylvia B. Murphy; brother, Damuth V. Bogan; and two grandchildren, Kayla Murphy and Grant Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alison and Beulah Mae Feig Bogan. Pallbearers will be Kevin Murphy, Grant Murphy, Gerald Harvell, Mike Murphy, Selser Pickett and Peyton Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Damuth Bogan, Armand Prentiss, J.W. Cole, Darrel Porter, Wayne Davis and Gordon Varnagin. He was a 1947 graduate of LSU, a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, the LSU tennis team, a past member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club and the Bocage Racquet Club.
