
Ames passed away on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. He was 88, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Napoleonville. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Sept. 28, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He served proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a veteran of World War II. Ames retired from Exxon Refinery with 37 years of service. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tamara "Tammy" and C.M. Browning, of Central, and Kathy and Tim Williams, of Pierre Part; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Konrad Talbot, of Baton Rouge, Keith "Buck" and Jane Talbot, of Pierre Part, Kyle and Dianne Talbot, Kevin and Janet Talbot, and Todd and Patricia Talbot, all of Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren, Alicia and husband Audie Miller, Chad Browning, Brad and wife Vanessa Browning, Justin and wife Lisa Talbot, Drew and wife Julie Talbot, and Shane, Ross, Ryan, Dean, Addison, Amelia, Avery and Adair Talbot; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Thelma T. Richard, of Napoleonville. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Florence Matherne Talbot; and parents, Henry and Lydia Talbot, who were of Napoleonville. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
