

Ann Jane Rodriguez Lewis, born on January 28, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Known for her adventurous spirit and hard-working nature, Ann left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Ann grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and pursued her education at Northwestern University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Her career in nursing began at Baton Rouge General as a Registered Nurse. Ann's dedication and leadership were further exemplified during her time managing Hyland Plasma Labs in Baton Rouge, part of Baxter-Travenol Labs, where she was honored with numerous awards as a Leading Manager Nationwide.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ann was an avid reader and an active member of her book club. She was a skilled Bridge player, participating in several Bridge clubs. Her love for adventure took her hiking around the world, with the Canadian Rockies being a favorite destination. Ann also cherished the time spent living with her husband in London, Toronto, and rural New Jersey. Her commitment to community service was evident through her volunteer work at LSU Rural Life Museum and Hilltop Arboretum.
Ann is survived by her husband, Ernie Lewis, of 47 years. They met July 4, 1975 living on the same street, going to the same pool and same church, Trinity Episcopal. Surviving children are Rod Lewis and his wife Victoria Lewis; her daughters Cheryl Pearse and her husband Keith Pearse, and Mary Jane McDermott and her husband Matthew McDermott; her step-children, Dorothy and her husband Colin McComiskey, Oliver and his wife Caroline Lewis; her grandchildren, Ben (Mia) Lewis, Jill (Joe) Binder, David (Kayte) Pearse, Jaci Pearse, Emmett McComiskey, Sander McComiskey, Chance McComiskey, Madeline (Mathieu) Paturel, and Katherine (Cole) Lanning; five great-grandchildren, Cohen, Wyatt, Blaise, Santino Binder, and Evelyn Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie Rosalyn Rodriguez and Andrew Edward Rodriguez, along with many beloved New Orleans cousins, aunts, and uncles.
