
On Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at 4:20 p.m., Annie passed from this world into the next. She was 99 and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Aug. 8, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Annie was born on March 25, 1908, at Kelson Plantation in Arbroth. She spent much of her youth in West Baton Rouge and Pointe Coupee parishes with her family and numerous friends. Annie graduated from Poydras High School in New Roads and attended Silliman College for Women in Clinton. Annie began her professional life as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Ligonier. During these teaching years, she met and married Arthur Ralph Hebert of Innis. Annie and Arthur moved to Baton Rouge, where Annie began working for Louisiana Paper Co. After more than a decade at Louisiana Paper Co., Annie began employment with the East Baton Rouge Parish school system and retired in 1968. Annie is survived by her sister, Josephine Glynn Cooper of Baton Rouge; nephews, Bill Douglass and wife Jackie, Gerald Phares and wife Sharon, Revel Dean Cooper and wife Jane, Arthur Ralph Cooper and wife Melissa, Jimmy Ewing and wife Donna, Al Ewing and wife Zel, Jerry Ewing and Johnny Ewing; nieces, Mary Louise Martin, Mary Lillie Osborn and husband Bobby, Emma Leah Thompson and husband Jack, Mary V. Alexander and husband Tony, Mickey Gremillion, Leah Moore and husband Larry, and Gerry Arnold and husband Robert; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Hebert; parents, Alphonse Jerome and Mary Leah Young Glynn; brother, Alphonse "Doc" Glynn Jr.; sisters, Mary Leah Glynn, Mary Jane Douglas, Virginia Lilley Young and Lydia Glynn Phares. Pallbearers will be Lane Ewing, Ian Alexander, Larry Moore, Robert Arnold, John Walker Kelly, Bobby Osborn Jr., Jeremy Coco and Glynn Cooper. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to Annie's beloved caregivers, Linda Scott, Wendy Johnson, Bertha Bias, Elaine Wynn and others. The family would also like to thank Comfort Care Hospice for their love and care, especially "Big John" and "Slim Jim Mike." Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a favorite charity.
