Tony, 87, a native of Jacoby, La. and a resident of Baton Rouge, La. was born August 23, 1924 and passed away March 20, 2012 at Lane Regional Medical Center. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps and U.S Air Force. He was a member and usher at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours in the field with his sons in tow. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Kathy Ventrella, Gary and Joani Ventrella, sister Marie Sanders, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Earline and Frank Gordon, eight grandchildren, April V. and Marvin Runnels, Angela V. and Doug McDonald, Melissa V. and Greg Manchester, Sonny Ventrella, Joey and Ashley Ventrella, Jamie and Todd Daigle, Ryan Ventrella, and Lauren Ventrella, 13 great grand-children and Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Ventrella, parents George and Mary Ventrella, infant daughter Marie, and three sisters: Elizabeth "Belle" Prevost, Josephine Bourgeois and Lilly Toups. Pallbearers will be Sonny, Joey and Ryan Ventrella, Greg Manchester, Doug McDonald, and Patrick Prevost. Many thanks to the management and staff of Zachary Manor. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Thursday March 22, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm.
