

Anthony Joseph Vitale, 94, passed away on January 29th, 2016 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 7th, 1921 and was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA since 1975. Anthony worked as a supervisor for Cargill, Inc. and was retired for nearly 30 years. After retiring, he joined Crawfish Aquatics, participated in US Masters Swimming, and set world records in the Senior Olympics. Anthony will be remembered as a humble, compassionate person with a wonderful sense of humor. He was loved by all and was an inspiration to others. Survived by sons Tom and Fred Vitale (Judi); daughter Rosemarie Rinaudo (Ricky); brothers Frank (Pat) and Bob Vitale; grandsons Michael Vitale (Sofia), Joey Vitale, Bradley Rinaudo (Lexi), and Brandon Rinaudo; great-granddaughters Mia and Haley Vitale; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Marie; parents Fred and Catherine Vitale; sisters Theresa Gilbert, Eleanor Colicchie, and Rosemarie Vitale; and brothers Fred and Mario Vitale. Visitation is Thursday, February 4th from 10:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of his wife, Marie.
