It is with heavy hearts but a grateful spirit that we celebrate the beautiful life of Benjamin “Ben" Joseph Adler, who passed away on August 25, 2025, in Dickson, Tennessee. Ben was born into this world on May 5, 2002, in Denver, Colorado.
He lived a short but full and vibrant life. The 23 years he gave us leaves a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was known for his big heart and kind spirit, never meeting a stranger and always offering a warm smile without judgment. Growing up in a large family, Ben was surrounded by love and support, which shaped him into the compassionate person he was. He loved music, particularly the guitar. His passion for music was evident in his love for concerts, especially John Mayer and Dave Matthews Band.
Ben enjoyed fishing with his buddies, getting fired up about the monster Mississippi catfish they would catch. He also loved exploring new foods. He was active and enjoyed playing lacrosse and tennis and loved playing golf with his family, especially on the summer family golf trips in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
Ben attended St. Jude The Apostle Catholic School in his youth and graduated from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, LA. He continued his education at Louisiana State University where he was working on a B.S. in General Studies with a minor in Business Administration.
Ben had a deep faith, and it was the cornerstone in his life. He found strength and guidance in scripture, incorporating his beliefs into his daily actions. He was gracious with his time, volunteering in disaster relief following the 2016 floods in Baton Rouge where he helped fill sandbags and distribute them to members of the community and assisted with demolition and debris removal to those families that needed help. He continued his volunteer efforts at Knock Knock Children's Museum helping with museum exhibits and engaging children with interactive and educational displays. Ben also volunteered his time at Ollie Steele Burden Manor Nursing Facility and Southside Gardens Nursing Home where he assisted residents with daily activities and offered companionship and emotional support.
His life was a gift — and his passing became a gift to others. Through organ donation, he offered the priceless gift of life, a reflection of his generous and compassionate spirit. We take comfort in knowing that God’s plan is oftentimes not our own, but we trust that His plan is divine and perfectly ordered. Ben brought joy, peace and hope to others during his life and he did the same in his death. Today, across the United States, there are grateful families whose lives have been renewed because of his choice to be an organ donor. Ben’s life and legacy will live on in those recipients and their families and in the love that he shared with all of us.
Ben is survived by his loving family: his father, Daniel Edward Adler Sr. (Sally Barry); his mother, Mary Carol Asher; his older brothers, Daniel Edward Adler Jr. and Ryan Solomon Adler; his younger sister, Sarah Jane Adler; and A very special Paternal Grandmother, Mickey “Mo Mo" Adler of Baton Rouge, LA. He was a loving uncle to Jolie Mae Adler (4) and Jude Ryan Adler (2). Ben had a large family with 17 aunts and uncles, 64 first cousins, and 3 step-siblings.
Ben is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, Edward Solomon Adler Jr, his Maternal Grandparents Jane Mestayer Foley and Ivan McIvor Foley, and his cousin Ashley Elizabeth Hyland.
