A native of Franklinton and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at the age of 81. Beloved mother and friend to many, she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Dana Beth Dumas and Marion Burns and Susan Dumas and Mario Barreiro; son and daughter-in-law, David Dumas and Beverly Lawson; sister, Sybil Saulter Quint; five grandchildren, Jena, Brian, Courtney, Dominic and Alec; and two great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Melanie (with another due any moment). She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert "Skeet" Dumas; and son, Barry Dumas. Dear Mom, we know you are always with us. We love you, miss you and promise to slow down, get a little rest, and enjoy the kids.
