Betty Pritchard Mounger, 90, passed away peacefully on September 2nd, 2024. Born on January 13th, 1934, Betty's life was defined by her unwavering faith, deep love for family, and dedicated community service.
A pillar of strength and compassion, Betty was a devout Christian whose faith guided her every action. She was a member of First Baptist Church in New Roads for over 25 years before moving to Texas. Known for her generous spirit, Betty frequently helped her church community and supported various Christian charities, touching many lives with her kindness and selflessness.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Gill Mounger; parents, Robert and Alma Pritchard; sisters, Nina Pritchard and Marie Pritchard Coor; and brothers, Frank and Bob Pritchard. She is survived by her brother Steve Pritchard (wife Shasta); son Robert Trent Mounger; daughter Linda Sue Bolen (husband Lyndon); grandchildren Stephanie Osborn (husband Luke), Alexandra Mounger, Chris Bolen (wife Chantel), and Natalie Henderson (husband Austin); and five great-grandchildren: Michael Bolen, Riley Henderson, Cayden Bolen, Zachary Taylor, and Nathan Osborn.
Throughout her life, Betty was a beacon of warmth and wisdom for her family. Her strength of character, faith, and gentle guidance left an enduring impact on multiple generations. Betty's compassion extended beyond her family, as she actively participated in her church and various community organizations, always ready to help those in need.
Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge, on Friday, September 13th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and share their memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where a memorial fund has been established in Betty's name.
Betty Pritchard Mounger will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
