A resident of Baton Rougeand a native ofMexia, Texas, she died as a result of a subdural hematoma and complications on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Our Lady of The Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 79. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Nov. 29, was from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m.Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, Nov. 30, from 11 a.m.until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll. Interment inGreenoaksMemorial Park. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Brink L. Vaughn; daughter, Debra Fagan, Covington; son, Dennis Vaughn, Houston; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Inda Edwards Handley; father, Charles Ray Handley; and sister, Frances Bowers. Pallbearers will be Nathan Vaughn, Ernie Gremillion, Jeremy Fagan, Mike Boies, Tommy Payment and Ricky Payment. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
