
A pioneer in the commercial real estate business for 47 years and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at his home. He was 74 and a native of Eunice. Visiting at St. John's United Methodist Church, 9375 Highland Road, on Saturday, May 23, from 3 p.m. until funeral service at 4:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Tim Lawson. Survived by his wife, Martha Whittington Durham; daughter and son-in-law, Leda and Glenn Smith; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Yvonne Durham, and Robby and Tina Durham, all of Baton Rouge; granddaughters, Sarah Margaret Smith and Mary Katherine Durham; grandsons, Glenn and Grant Smith, Morgan, Austin and Grayson Durham, and Ashton, Dominic and Cole Dewey; sisters, Nancy Wiltz and Jane Lacassine, both of Krotz Springs; and a brother, Orval Durham, of Opelousas. Preceded in death by his parents, Ledabel Clark and Bill Durham. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Henry Patrick and Dr. Vince Tuminello for their special care. Entombment at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum.
