

Carl “Big Corky” K. Landry, Sr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the age of 85. After graduating high school, he served our country in the Air Force during the Korean War, earning himself numerous honors. Big Corky enjoyed the finer things in life like dancing, fishing, and going to the camp. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs. He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Barbara E. Landry; children, Kenneth Landry and wife, Ruth, William “Billy” Landry, Sr. and wife, Becky, Sharon Landry Barrett and husband, Michael; daughter-in-law, Brenda McLin Landry; stepchildren, Gene, Robert, Tim Coates; grandchildren, Brandi Landry Smart, Jennifer Landry Belcher, Corinne Landry, Aubrey Landry, Danielle Landry Fennell, Chase Barrett, Christina Landry, Billy Landry, Jr., and Chelsey Barrett; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, George Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews. Big Corky was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Maggie Marie Landry; son, Carl “Corky” Landry, Jr.; three brothers; and his parents. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park.
