Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Mary Alice Templet Dranguet of Baton Rouge and Charles Alvin Dranguet, Sr. of Natchitoches, Louisiana, both of whom preceded her in death. Carolyn is survived by her brother, Charles Alvin Dranguet Jr.
She is also survived by her two daughters, who were the joy of her life: Erin Paige Broussard and (Bonnye) Ashlyn Hall along with her husband Lyle, whom Carolyn loved like the son she never had. Affectionately known as “G.G.” (Gorgeous Grandmother), she adored her grandchildren, Aaron and Cameron Hall, and was thrilled to welcome their wives, Lauren and Mariah, into the family with all her heart.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Carolyn considered her family to be her greatest calling. She poured her heart into raising her daughters and cultivating strong, meaningful relationships with her grandsons. She was overjoyed at the thought of her first great-grandchild on the way. Her family takes comfort in knowing she will celebrate his birth in heaven.
She lived life with a joyful spirit. Always eager for new adventures and memories, she traveled overseas several times to visit her family. Carolyn loved to dance- especially the jitterbug. She had a way of bringing energy and grace to any situation.
Carolyn had many friendships, and she never missed an opportunity to make a new friend. Her legacy of kindness, joy, faith, and love will continue to shine through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Her passion for good nutrition and her desire to help others led her to start her own diet counseling business, where she supported countless people as they pursued health and confidence. Many have remained lifelong friends.
Carolyn had a servant’s heart, always ready to have an “old lady” in her life, someone to offer her time, attention, and love without a second thought. She was known for her huge heart, her empathy, and her ability to cry with a stranger making them feel treasured.
Carolyn was a faithful and devoted follower of Jesus. As a prayer warrior, she prayed for family, friends, and even acquaintances with sincerity and steadfastness throughout her life.
