A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 10:26 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, at Flannery Oaks Guest House. She was 91. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, May 11, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by three daughters, Carol B. Ruiz and husband Jay, of Baton Rouge, Brenda B. Garrett, of Denham Springs, and Patricia B. Groves and husband Johnie, of Branson, Mo.; two sons, Michael L. Browning and wife Dolores, of Cumming, Ga., and Daniel C. Browning and wife Katherine, of Prairieville; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, John Eual Browning. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she volunteered in many aspects of the church, and a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
