

Catherine Rita Lafuria Heintze, a longtime resident of Denham Springs and Baton Rouge before moving to Katy, Texas in 2012, passed away July 13, 2015. Ms. Catherine was born May, 5, 1933 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to John and Juanita Lafuria. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She retired as a Livingston Parish school bus driver. Ms. Catherine loved being the wife of a U.S. Marine, enjoyed cooking, especially her crawfish pies, jambalaya and seafood gumbo. Above all she loved Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior and the Catholic Church. She is survived by; son, Arnette F. Heintze, Jr. and wife Tricia, daughters; Debora Ann Heintze(Debbie) Scott, husband Richard (Rick) from Katy, Texas, Barbara Jean Heintze, Houston, TX, Juanita Marie Heintze LeBlanc and husband Mark, Temecula CA., grandson Justin Michael Scott, San Francisco, CA; granddaughters Harper Nola Northcutt Hientze, Chicago, IL, Annabella Hildebrand Heintze, Chicago, IL and Gabriella Hildebrand Heintze, Chicago, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Arnette “Sarge” F. Heintze, Sr., parents John and Juanita Lafuria, brother, Leland Hayward Johnson, Jr. and sisters, Charlotte Esther Lafuria Bass Vining and Edith Mae Johnson Day. Thank you to the staff at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living and Advantage Hospice for making Mom’s last days as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Special thanks to Dr. Vish Kalapatapu for always taking the time to listen and care for Mom and treating her with the respect and dignity she deserved.
