A loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her, she passed away peacefully at her home in Baton Rouge at the age of 80. She was born Jan. 15, 1927. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and was an administrative coordinator at LSU for more than 27 years. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory J. and Tammy M. Mitchell, of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren, Warren S. Mitchell, Sarah R. Mitchell and Olivia R. Mitchell, all of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph J. and Rose G. Ferrara. Pallbearers will be Warren S. Mitchell, Sam Losavio, Russell J. Ferrara, Tony Ferrara, Tommy Losavio and David Moore. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave., on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or St. Joseph's Academy.
