

A loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Cecil "PawPaw Bear" died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family at age 79. Born on September 20, 1934, in St. Gabriel, to the late Leslie Edward Hebert Sr. and Claire Becnel Hebert. A retired accountant with a life long passion for woodworking, Pawpaw Bear shared many of his cypress creations with his family and friends. Sunday afternoon rides along the beautiful country side were another one of his favorites. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 3743. Cecil is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jerline Babin Hebert. He is also survived by four children, Lauren Hebert Ragland and husband Marvin "Buddy" Ragland, Jr.; Cecil Leslie Hebert, Jr. and wife Kathy Albritton Hebert; Lyle Gerard Hebert and wife Toni Stelly Hebert of Moss Bluff, LA; Jeralyn Hebert Miller and husband Mark Miller of Germantown, TN. Also survived by seven grandchildren Blake Leslie Hebert, Kathrine Blair Leveron and husband Jacob Leveron, Lauren Paige Babin and husband Ren Babin, Alexandra Marie Miller, William Jacob Miller, Grace Marie Ragland, Emma Kate Hebert and two great grandchildren Gavan Leveron and Cooper Leveron. Cecil is also survived by his sister, Delores Laplace and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his brother Leslie E. Hebert, Jr. The celebration of his life will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with visitation beginning Monday morning, November 4, at 9:30am. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am by Rev. Al Davidson. Entombment will be in St. Gabriel Catholic Church Mausoleum, St. Gabriel under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all family and friends who remembered them in their thoughts and prayers.
