Cecile Marie Lemoine Desselle

Cecile Marie Lemoine Desselle, born on December 10, 1934 in Bordelonville, LA and native of Prairieville, LA, and resident of Ascension Oaks Nursing Home. She passed away at 2:40 Friday morning on October 7, 2022 from congestive heart failure. She was 87 years old.

Cecile was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook, known for her chicken stews, corn soup, pecan cake, and famous pecan candy. Her house and yard were always immaculate. She had such a great love for her yard and flowers, and truly enjoyed working her word puzzle books. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cecile is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, James Desselle, Sr.; two sons, Glen Desselle and James Desselle, Jr. (Abigail); one daughter, Susan Desselle Rachal; sister, Marjorie Plauche; brother, Earl Lemoine; six grandchildren, Kevin Rachal, Stephanie Rachal, Daniel Desselle (Brandi), Jason Desselle, Heather Lane (Jake), and Haley (Jonathan); six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ethan Rachal, Allison Scott, Parker James, Ze'lie Marie Desselle, and Kamille and Kylie Lane.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ella Bordelon Lemoine, Sr.; five brothers; one sister; son, Deryl Desselle; and grandson, Scott Rachal.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 10 am - 12 pm. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Please visit www.greenoaksfunerals.com to leave condolences to the family.
