David was a resident and native of Baton Rouge. He passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:11 am at The Carpenter House at age 63. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was an avid golfer. He was a longtime employee of Turner Industries. Visiting will be Friday, November 15, 2013 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard from 5:00 pm until 8 pm and Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 1:00 pm until religious services at 3:00 in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Edd Spurlock. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. David is survived by his wife of nearly twenty years, Mary Ann Templet; mother, Johnnie B. Spurlock; daughter, Brandi Spurlock; brothers, Fred Spurlock, Tim Spurlock and Edd Spurlock; and a grandson, Nathan Monroe. He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Obed Spurlock. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Germany, Joe Calloway, Tom Dunn, Harold Seaton, Charlie Boyette and Scott Whitehead. Honorary pallbearer will be John Bellew. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, The Carpenter House, 10615 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, 70809.
