

Charles "Russell” Lieux passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. He was born in and remained a resident of Baton Rouge. He is survived by his children Melodie Lieux Landry (David) Maurepas, Louisiana, Charles Marshall Lieux (Tammy) Central, Louisiana, and David Russell Lieux (Buffy) of Geismar, Louisiana. Russell was also a beloved Grandfather to Josh Meeks (Laura), Kelsey Rae Lieux, Alicen Lieux Harris (Caleb), Lexi Lieux, and Sarah Grace Lieux, Great Grandfather to Brooks Thomas Harris and another expected great grandchild “Baby” Harris on the way. Also, survived by his sister , Anne Louise Louque.
Russell graduated from Catholic High School in 1947 and attended LSU, where he served in the LSU ROTC program. He enlisted in the Navy at the beginning of the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Navy he went to work at DSM Copolymer where he was employed for 46 years until his retirement. In his spare time, he served as a reserve deputy with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff Office. He was a member of the Baton Rouge Navy Club, a member of the American Legion and The Knights of Columbus. He was passionate about the LSU Tigers and was a baseball season ticket holder since 2000.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Russell Lieux and Eloise Hernandez Lieux. Brother, James Henry Lieux. Wife, Marsha Lieux. Two sons, Edward Ray Lieux and Michael Joseph Lieux. Granddaughter, Kelsey Rae Lieux.
Visitation will take place Friday, February 14, 2025, from 9-12pm followed by religious services at 12:00pm at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East. Burial will immediately follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roland Louque, Kenny Lieux, Eric Lieux, Josh Meeks, Scott Pesson, and Caleb Harris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Flynn, David Landry, and Brooks Harris.
