Charles Martin McKenzie, 46, died unexpectedly in Pensacola, Fla., on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m. Survived by his parents, Elaine and Wallace McKenzie, of Baton Rouge; and sister, Lesley K. McKenzie and her three daughters, Emily, Phoebe and Daphne, of California; cousin, Debbie Lamb, of Baton Rouge; and other relatives in California and Georgia. Along with his longtime friend, Peter Landry, he perished in the rip current near the shore at Perdido Key Beach. Memorial donations may be made to the LSU Foundation-School of Music.
