

Charles Eugene Stroughter, "Paw Paw Flipper", a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Saturday June 2, 2012 at the age of 77. He was an Army veteran and a retired millwright/ machinist and a retired employee of Pride Automotive. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd on Monday June 4, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm, and on Tuesday June 5, 2012 from 8am until service at 10am, conducted by Father Jeff Bayhi. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Betty Neucere Stroughter, three daughters; Rhonda S Gaunt and husband Paul; Cheryl S Handley and husband David; Mimi S Whaley and husband John; three sons, J Mark, C Andrew "Andy" and R Michael Stroughter; stepson, Maxy Scallan and wife Judy; four brothers, Sammy F, Dewayne E and wife Patricia; Jack D and wife Janette and Danny L Stroughter and wife Eilene; sister in law, Ruth Stroughter; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents John Stroughter and Mary S Brown, and a brother Johnny H Stroughter. Pallbearers will be Dwayne, Danny, Jimmy, Andrew "Andy" and Doug Stroughter and Jeffrey Gaunt and honorary pallbearers, Jerry Valentine and Cameron Whaley. A special thanks to all the staff at Harvest Manor Nursing Home and at Life Source Hospice.
