A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was 74 and a native of Clairdon, Ark. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Wednesday, June 1, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Arthur Ebby. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by her husband, William E. Gibson; daughters, Paulette and Glen Steely; grandchildren, Jason and Candace Steely, Chris Steely, and Ryan and April Steely; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by sisters, Wanda Crawford, and twin Ernestine George, both of Denham Springs, Ann Decker, of Coal City, Ill., Linda Vanderhoof, of Waynesville, Md., and Virginia Carroll, of San Antonio, Texas. Preceded in death by her father, Ezra E. Moore; and mother, Clara Edwards Moore. Pallbearers will be Jason Steely, Christian Steely, Ryan Steely, Jimmy Ballard, Jeremy Ballard and Michael House. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Gibson and Gaylan Gibson. She was a volunteer at New Life Center and an avid student of the Word of God. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Joseph Hospice.
