"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones." Psalms 116:15 Clarence Elton Hall died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at home after a prolonged illness. He was 91, born in Old Boston, Texas, on May 18, 1920. Dad was the rock of strength of our family. He loved the Lord, his family, his country and LSU. He was a professor emeritus from the College of Engineering. After his official retirement from LSU in 1985, he spent 10 years working with the Department of Continuing Education. His passion was learning. His vocation was teaching, whether it was the word of the Lord or engineering graphics. He taught his students the practical ways of industry as well as the knowledge that comes from books. He taught his family and lived his life as an example for others to learn the commandment of the Lord: Love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as you love yourself. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Lea Hall; his daughter and son-in-law, Judith Kathryn and Richard Schroeder; his brothers, James Lloyd Hall and Herbert Murl Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Anna Kathryn Humphrey Hall; his son, Kenneth Allen Hall; his parents, Clarence Monroe Hall and Essie Geneva Hall; and two sisters. The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to all of dad's and mother's caregivers, but especially to Mrs. Rose Marie Wade, who loved and cared for them with the gentle kindness of a tender angel of mercy. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Friday, Dec. 23, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment in Lone Star Cemetery, Point, Texas, will be held at a later date.
