
Claude Hedden Hudson Jr., a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Memphis, Tenn., died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, in Pensacola, Fla. He was 83 and grew up in Brooksville, Miss. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and retired from General Electric with 46 years service, where he received several outstanding G.E. and IEEE awards. Visitation at the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Friday Aug. 6, from 2 p.m. until religious services at 4 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Tony Perkins and the Rev. Bill Snyder. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Brooksville Cemetery, Brooksville, Miss. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Hudson; daughter, Claudia Hudson and husband Karl Manzer; four sons and three daughters-in-law, John H. Hudson, David and Kathy Hudson, Edward and Rachel Hudson, and Robert and Mary Hudson; stepchildren, Philip Delivorias and wife Mary Helen, and Judi Beck and husband Jim; seven grandchildren, Zachary and Sarah Hudson-Sorrell, and Grant Hudson, Taylor and Karley Hudson, Joey and Jenny Hudson; brother-in-law, James B. Brandt; stepgrandchildren, Bradley Delivorias and wife Amy, Tyler Thornhill and wife Joelle, Barrett Thornhill and wife Jenny; and stepgreat-grandsons, Philip Delivorias and Barron Delivorias. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Hudson Sr. and Sara Feild Hudson; his first wife, Lois Caroline Brandt Hudson; and grandson, Joshua Lee Hodges. Pallbearers will be Grant Hudson, Taylor Hudson, Joey Hudson, Zachary Hudson Sorrell, Bradley Delivorias and Barrett Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, 912 11th Ave. South, Columbus, MS 39701, the Salvation Army or the Red Cross.
