

Cleament Brannon “Bo” Smith passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, at the age of 83. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Bo was born on June 24, 1942, and lived a life defined by service, loyalty, faith, and a deep love for family and community.
Bo was a proud graduate of Catholic High School where he later served as the President of the Men’s Club and was one of the men who ran Catholic High Bingo in the 70’s. He also attended Louisiana State University. An avid and devoted LSU fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Tigers. In true Tiger fashion, Bo will be laid to rest wearing his favorite LSU shirt. Visitors are warmly welcomed and encouraged to wear their LSU attire in his honor - something he would have truly enjoyed.
Bo faithfully served his country as a member of the National Guard. He went on to build a long and respected career with the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office, where he dedicated many years of service to his community. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to doing what was right.
He was preceded in death by his father Cleament Brannon Smith, Sr., and his mother Dorothy Adams Ricketts and his sister Ree Kostuch.
Bo is survived by his loving wife Corky; his sister-in-law, Kim Bevil and brother-in-law, Billy Lasseter; his daughters Katherine King (Gordon), Kim Boneno (David) and Karen Melancon (Eric); his grandchildren Lauren King, Abby King Bourgeois (Butler), Brannon Melancon (Danielle), Dr. Mary Jordan Melancon, Sydney Boneno and William Boneno; and his great-grandchildren Haleigh King, Camille Bourgeois and Maggie Melancon, all of whom were the pride and joy of his life.
Pallbearers will include Gordon King, David Boneno, Dr. Eric Melancon, Brannon Melancon, Butler Bourgeois, William Boneno, Billy Lasseter and Buck Hawks.
Services will be conducted by Deacon James Morrissey
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Catholic High School, 855 Hearthstone Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70806 in Bo’s memory.
Bo will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his lifelong friendships, and his unwavering love for LSU. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service to be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815 on Thursday, March 5th, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
