

David Kenneth Bahlinger, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 17, 2012. Born on November 2, 1929, he was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church for 46 years. He retired as a pharmaceutical representative for Schering-Plough after 35 years. He graduated from Catholic High in 1947. He received his Bachelor's degree from Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette in 1956, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta. He was a former Boy Scout leader of Troop 7 in St. Aloysius Parish and a former Knights of Columbus member. He also served in the US Army. He was a charter member and past president of Le Cercle de Bacchus. He was on the Board of Directors for Kornmeyer's Furniture Company. He was a member of the Metropolitan Serra Club of Baton Rouge. Survived by wife of 51 years, Juanita Prados Bahlinger, children Kenneth D. Bahlinger and wife Suzette, Daniel J. Bahlinger and wife Lauren, Craig P. Bahlinger, and wife Jennifer, daughter Karen M. Bahlinger, all of Baton Rouge and daughter Renée Bahlinger Dickhute and husband Brian, of Buford, Georgia. Also survived by his brothers Peter Bahlinger, Fred Bahlinger, Lawrence Bahlinger and sisters Martha Bahlinger Hasse, Frances Bahlinger Fremin, Charlotte Bahlinger Walters, and eight grandchildren Morgan E. Dickhute, Meagan D. Bahlinger, David T. Bahlinger, Elizabeth A. Bahlinger, Kathleen R. Dickhute, Phillip D. Bahlinger, Christopher B. Dickhute, and Cole P. Bahlinger. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Christina Fabacher Bahlinger and Frederick Bahlinger, Sr. and brother Eugene Bahlinger. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church Saturday at 9:30am, concelebrated by the Rev. Thomas Duhe' the Rev. Donald Bahlinger. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
