David Anthony LeClere was born September 5, 1954 in New Orleans, to parents Paul and Rosalie Leclere. A brilliant and driven man, he graduated from De La Salle High School 1972 in New Orleans and made a great pilgrimage to Baton Rouge, LA. He established his life in Baton Rouge, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in English and History in 1976. He then graduated from the Paul M. Herbert School of Law at LSU with his J.D. in 1979. Shortly after graduation, he began practicing law and became a partner at three law firms before founding LeClere Law Firm, APLC in 1991 and then Alliance Title, LLC, today known as Preferred Alliance, LLC. Additionally, David is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, The Baton Rouge Bar Association, (NAILTA) National Association of Independent Title Agents (Sitting President and Founding Board Member), (LAILTA) Louisiana Association of Independent Title Attorneys, (Founding Board Member), (BRITA ) Baton Rouge Independent Title Attorney (Past President), (LLTA) Louisiana Land Title Association, (Legislative Committee), (ALTA) American Land Title Association, and various civil and social organizations. David raised four young men, David A. LeClere II, Jacob Gunter, Michael Josh LeClere, and Benjamin LeClere, to love the Lord, love each other, love the Saints and Tigers, and to always put family first. They were more than father and sons. They were best friends, and there was nothing they didn't enjoy doing together. He impacted the lives of countless others and is notably grieved by fiancee Lisa Grover and her daughter Ella: sons: David A. LeClere II, Josh LeClere, Ben LeClere, and Jacob Gunter; Mother Rosalie Leclere, Sisters: Pam Waldron, Gerri St. Germain, and Susie Wilty; along with many family members and friends. He battled kidney cancer bravely for six years and lost his life on Wednesday, July 29, 2015; cancer never had to work so hard. David A. LeClere was a loyal hero, father and friend. His strength and dedication to all served as a model that we all should strive to follow. He will be deeply missed.
