

After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, the Lord reached for our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and brought him home. David Earl Miller, passed away on February 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father David Harrison “Doc” Miller; mother Hester Mae Wascom Miller, brother-in-laws: J.R. Arvello, Paul Arvello, and Shorty Arvello. He is survived by his wife Mary Arvello Gollahon Miller; his children: Lori Gollahon Allen and husband Ray, Gene R. Gollahon, Jr. and wife Lora, and Theresa Miller Griffin and husband Chris; his grandchildren: Crista Stokes Wynne and husband Christopher, Gene “Skip” R. Gollahon III, David Joseph “DJ” Gollahon, Caitlin Elizabeth Griffin and Alaina Danielle Griffin; step-grandchildren: Shayla, Taylor and Derek Allen; great grandchildren: Kennedy Elizabeth Gollahon and Makayla Allen; his siblings: Walden Miller and wife Anelia, Randal Miller and wife Linda, and Ruth Nell Kinnison and husband Jim; In-laws Jack and Carrie Castrogiovanni, Lena Letelier, and Daisy Arvello; and many nieces and nephews. David was born in Mt. Hermon, LA on Jan. 21, 1935 and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1953-1956. He retired from One Source Janitorial Company after 40 years of service. His passion in life was his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Castoff’s Square Dancing Club. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 10am until service time at 2pm.
