
On Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at age 56, after her courageous battle with breast cancer, Debbie died at home with her family at her side. She was a native of Baker, resident of Central and of the Baptist faith. Debbie was the high school sweetheart, soul-mate, best friend and loving wife of Roger Hand. Her love will be carried on in the hearts of three children, Kim Hand Lerche and husband Rick, Chris Hand and wife Heather, and her baby, Katie Hand; and in the hearts of four grandchildren, Connor and Savannah Grace Lerche, and Skiilyn and Arianna Hand, who loved their "Mimi" so very much. She is survived by her parents, Lois Summers Sutton and Erwin Pruitt Sutton Sr.; sister, Donna Sutton Perkins; numerous nieces and nephews, including Rachel Perkins, a niece whom she often referred to as her adopted daughter, and by Rhonda Holden, Debbie's partner in crime. She was preceded in death by her brother, Erwin Pruitt Sutton Jr.; infant sister, Brenda Darlene Sutton; maternal grandparents, Joe Lee and Thelma Summers; and paternal grandparents, the Rev. Henry and Blanche Sutton. The pallbearers will be Roger Hand, Chris Hand, Tyler Perkins, Rick Lerche, Tom Hand and Ashby Schwartz. The honorary pallbearers are Jim Hand and Eric "Tator" Militello. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Friday, Dec. 18, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 955 Europe St., on Saturday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Baker. Deeply missed, Debbie will forever live in our hearts.
