

"Born in Tunica, LA Feb 13, 1931, longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. passed peacefully at home Nov 12, 2018. Don served 21 years with the USAF as a pilot and also worked at the Rocket Propulsion Research Lab. He was stationed at multiple bases around the world. He is preceded in death by his parents Alonzo Carlyle and Minnie Mae Rogillio, and brother Charles Rogillio. Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Vivian Settoon Rogillio, daughter Melinda (Mendy) Owens and husband David, son David Rogillio and Virginia, and daughter Teri Zalenski and husband Keith. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Malcolm Walker III, USMC GySgt Marcus Walker, Matthew Walker (Odalis), Misty Walker (Jimmy), Rebecca Meliet (Jared), Lisa Ramsey (Thomas), Zoe Zalenski and Phoebe Zalenski; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Carlyle Rogillio, brother-in-law Eugene Settoon, and sisters-in-law Patsy Massimini and Lois Ann Frazier. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle loved by everyone. Don enjoyed family vacations on the beaches of Destin, FL. He loved fishing, boating and teaching many how to water ski. He played the spoons to the delight of everyone from college buddies during his days at LSU to his great-grandkids. He enjoyed country music from yesteryear (think Hew Haw), took great joy in watching sports, especially LSU Tiger Football, and was an accomplished arm-chair quarterback. The family greatly appreciates the love and care received through Our Lady of the Lake ICU and Canon Hospice. Service Saturday, Nov 17 at 10:00 am. Graveside service Saturday, Nov 17, 12:30 pm at the Rogillio Cemetery, Tunica, LA.
