Donald “Don” Ray Foster, born December 29, 1952 was called home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2021. Don’s devotion to his family and his strong faith in Christ made him the man we know and love today.
Don was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Rebecca Lou Wall, on April 8, 1974 in Baton Rouge, LA. Don helped raise his two boys with patience, discipline, and humility. From the very beginning, he dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels. He was active in the life of his church, Fellowship Baptist in Ponchatoula. Don was a living example of one of his favorite Bible verses, John 5:24-
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, ‘He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
Don had a vivacious personality and always made those around him laugh. He was full of life, never met a stranger, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. Although he will be dearly missed by his loved ones, they celebrate that he is at peace with his creator.
Don is survived by his wife, Rebecca Wall Foster; his mother, Olivia Nicolosi Foster; his sons Donnie (Shelley) and Kelly (Amber); his grandchildren Teagan, Maris, Sadie, and Nora; his brothers, Edwin Jr. (Cheryl), Michael, Daryl (Ray Lynn), Gary (Meredith), and Craig (Laurie). He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Earl Foster.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on August 17, 2021 at Greenoaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge with the funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Felix Johnson will officiate the service. A reception will follow at Greenoaks Reception Hall at 11:00. Prayers, condolences, and memories are gratefully accepted at www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/baton-rouge-la/donald-foster-10300332.
