For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 16-18. Our loving father, grandfather, and brother was called by God to be with him on Saturday, July 25, 2009. Don had a love for life and cherished his family and friends. We were truly blessed to have him for 68 years. He never met a stranger, and all who knew him, loved him. He was a graduate of Baker High School, was dedicated to law enforcement and retired from the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's Office. He was the owner of Donald Jarreau Flooring and Maintenance Co. He loved to spend time with his family and cherished his grandchildren. He is survived by sons, Derrick Jarreau, and Donnie Jarreau and wife Vicky; brother and sister-in-law, Percy and Lorraine Jarreau; nephews, Gene and Jimmy Jarreau; grandchildren, Taylor Jarreau, Ben Jarreau, Avery Jarreau, Ainsley Jarreau and Eason Jarreau; and friend, Judy Jarreau. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Jarreau; brother, Eugene Jarreau; and grandson, Chase Jarreau. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, July 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Christian Burial at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Pallbearers will be Taylor Jarreau, Brent Braud, Ricky Bearden, Bucky Bearden, Darryl Boudreaux, Dana Moore and Chester Price.
