Donelle Racquel Washington

Donelle Racquel Washington was born to the union of the late Don Washington and Gloria Washington on May 31, 1980, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Donelle Racquel Washington was a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the age of forty-five. Donelle loved her family and friends. She loved spending time with all of them. She treasured her relationship with God. She was baptized at an early age and her serving journey began faithfully to the end (Spring Creek Baptist Church, Rising Star Baptist Church, Family Worship Center, Living Faith, Church of the Highlands, Journey Place). She loved singing and teaching children, her gifts from God. Donelle was the proud mother of two children, Kali La’Shawn Mattie, and Lillian Mae Lee, who were the center of her world. Some of her happiest memories were made vacationing together in various parts of the world with her family. Donelle was an enthusiastic teacher, loved her babies, they were her second family. Donelle is survived by her children, Kali La’Shawn Mattie and Lillian Mae Lee, mother, Rev. Dr. Gloria Washington Okogun (Emmanuel), brother Brandon Washington, nieces Addison, Brooklyn, and Charlie. Aunts Louise Washington and Latisha Pitts Wyre; Her uncles Pastor Carl Wyre (Wilmer), Lavester Wyre (Margaret), Leroy Wyre (Sharron), along with a host of cousins and friends. Special friends Kelly Sanders, Tarlisha Jasper, Tresa Augustine, and Valencea Johnson. Donelle was preceded in death by her dad, Don Washington, her grandparents Mattie H. Wyre, Lawrence Wyre, Catherine Washington, and Elmer Washington, sister, Latisha Washington, Emmanuel Okogun, and Darin Buckhalter. Donelle legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all the lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation and celebration of life at Greenoaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815, Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, from 12:00 pm until service time of 1:00 pm.
