

He was 76, native of Echo, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He died 12:15 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center Bluebonnet. Mr. LaCombe began his career in Echo, LA working on the family farm. He then served our country in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army he became a master journeyman carpenter under the training of his father-in-law, Ed Gros. Through his hard work and dedication he progressed and became a Superintendent in commercial construction until his retirement. He supervised work for local companies Barksdale & LeBlanc, Foretich & Zimmer, Percy Matherne, Toomer Construction, M.B.D., Charles Carter and Donnie LaCombe Construction. He retired as a lifetime member of the Baton Rouge Carpenters Union, Local 1098. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Monday, May 23, 2011, 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Tuesday 8:00 am until religious services at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Services will be conducted by Dr. Judy Laird. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Michelle “Apple” LaCombe; brothers, Conley, Nelson and Dickie LaCombe; sister, Faye LaCombe Forest; children, Donnie Edward LaCombe and wife Cindy; daughter, Dina LaCombe Lejeune and husband Darryl; son, Chris Anthony LaCombe Sr. and wife Michelle; son, Tony Mitchell LaCombe and wife Cheryl; step children, Michael Jasinski and wife Gari, Christy Bourg and husband Joey; grandchildren, Donnie LaCombe II, Thomas III and Angele Abington, Chris Anthony Jr., Jordan and Stephen LaCombe, Kellie and Courtnie Seymour, Blake and Zach Jasinski and Isaiah and Elijah Bourg;great grandchildren, Thomas Abington IV and Cooper Poirrier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Tavie LaCombe and brothers, Paul and Gerald LaCombe. Pallbearers will be Donnie E. LaCombe, Chris A. LaCombe Sr., Tony M. LaCombe, Darryl Lejeune, Mike Jasinski and Joey Bourg. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge. He was a devout family man who loved God. He will be missed by all who knew him and the hunting camp will not be the same without him.
