Dorothy Lamar Lively passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the age of 104. She was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. She was preceded in death by her husband Selser Morgan Lively, Sr. and her son Michael Warren Lively. She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Lively Scullin and Brenda Lively, and by her son Selser Morgan “Gerald” Lively, Jr. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her two goals in life were to marry and to have children. She accomplished both goals, becoming a good and faithful wife and a wonderful, caring mother. She was a remarkable woman who encountered many challenges throughout her long life and faced them all with quiet dignity and determination. She was buried next to her husband at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in a ceremony attended by family members and a few close friends. May she rest in peace and spend eternity with her husband and other loved ones.
