Dorothy H. Medine

Dorothy Hidalgo Medine, a native of Belle Rose, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the age of 93. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Mervin Medine; children, Mervin “Tommy” Medine, Jr. and his wife, Alphia, Ronald Medine and partner, Rosemary Howell, Susan Olsen, and Bruce Medine and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, Denise Anders, Lane Medine, Christina Medine, Jeanne Medine, Ronnie Paul Medine, April Olsen, Christopher Olsen, Jonathan Medine, and Shannon Haltom; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Josh, Jeremiah, Rebecca, Sarah, Nicholas, Kameron, Bradyn, Andrew, and Kaitlin; and great-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylee, Jason, and Ashlynn. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adrein and Hermena Hidalgo; her many brothers and sisters; and her son-in-law, Preston Olsen. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 10 a.m. until Funeral Service at 12 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Kayla Olsen, wife of Christopher, and Christina Medine for their dedication to special care for Dorothy, as well as the staff at Audubon Home Health and Hospice.
