A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she was a retired secretary for Ethyl Corp. with 38 years of service. Dorothy died at 8:35 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 87. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Dec. 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home chapel on Monday, Dec. 22, from 10 a.m. until the religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Burn Page. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband of 59"° years, Roy Patton; sisters, Katie Pierce and Elaine Ricks, both of Baton Rouge, Peggy Denbo and husband Robert, of Hot Springs, Ark., and Virginia Baronne and husband Frank, of Baton Rouge; brother, Frank J. Sygalas and wife Ann, of Winnfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank J. and Katie Laird Sygalas; sisters, Mildred Sygalas Dees and Geraldine Sygalas Nettles.
