"Dr. Jack Edwin Guerry, Ph.D., died September 2, 2018, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 86. Born in Weatherford, Texas, he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from North Texas State University, and his doctorate from Michigan State University. He was an Alumni Professor at LSU School of Music, and an honored member of that faculty for over 35 years. A musician and author, he loved to teach. He is survived by his spouse, Leah, son David (Liz), daughter Madeline, and grandsons Matthew and Michael (Kristen). Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA, from 9:30 to 11:30, on Thursday, September 6, followed by a private burial.
