A native and resident of Baton Rouge, Edith Ewing Bonfanti, 64, born Aug. 25, 1945, went to eternal happiness Thursday, April 29, 2010. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Charles Bonfanti Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Tonya Bonfanti III; daughter, Lisa Bonfanti Evans; and four grandchildren, Austin Bonfanti, Zachary Evans, Abigail Evans and Carter Bourgeois. Preceded in death by her father, Forrest "Buck" Ewing; mother, Esther Roth Ewing; and a brother, Kenneth Ewing. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Wednesday, May 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at St. Pius Catholic Church from 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, until time of services at 11 a.m. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Edith will always be remembered for her love of animals and the ability to put a smile on the face of everyone she came in contact with.
